  Tried out their shiro miso ramen with an added egg. For $1.50, you get a whole marinated egg. This egg had a soft yolk, but wasn't super runny which is good for a bowl of ramen. I noticed there was quite a lot of beansprouts, but underneath there was plenty of noodles. I liked the noodles because they were a bit thicker and chewier. The broth tasted like what the description said. It was a mellower broth that wasn't too salty. I liked the toppings that came with it and it was overall a satisfying bowl of ramen. It's not surprising I enjoyed their ramen, as they are part of the same group including ramen gojiro and ramen butcher. With ramen butcher being one of my favourite ramen places, I am glad I was able to enjoy their ramen here.
  
  Service was good, especially since we were seated in the outside area. I would recommend coming here for ramen if you're in the area.

  saturday afternoon visit.  
  
  not given water for 10 min - server was just out of it. finally got water and order in.
  
  the gal making the ramen was eating with her rubber gloves on, not very professional. seemed like a bunch of kids running a shop for mom dad.
  
  ramen was good. but seriously, get your act together.

  2.5/5 + 0.5 for the egg. A part of the Ramen Butcher and Ramen Gojiro group, Ramen Gaoh is a ramen joint located on Willingdon and Hastings. The servers here know Japanese, but don't expect authentic Japanese ramen here.
  
  We ordered a Shio Ramen and Scorpion Ramen. My bf had the Scorpion Ramen and his overall thought was that "it was decent, but all you can taste is spiciness and saltiness". He was expecting more complex flavours.
  
  I had the Shio Ramen which came with seaweed, half an egg, truffle wontons, chicken, onions, and pepper and yuzu shaving. The broth was salty, but lacking in depth. The chicken chashu wasn't juicy, but not dry. The yuzu shaving added a very subtle citrus flavour to the broth - you really have to try to find it though. The egg was marinated and salty. The truffle wontons had a noticeable truffle smell, but quite bland in taste. I found the filling a little dry.
  
  What bugged us were the noodles. My bf enjoyed the thick noodles, but my thin noodles soaked up a lot of the soup so the portion of noodles to soup was off. The first round of noodle refill is free. We found the texture of the noodle refill harder than the original noodles. They seem underdone. Maybe we had to leave them in the soup so it soaks up the soup? This seems a little silly though.
  
  Service was good, but the restaurant wasn't full when we came. It's nice that they have patio seating too! Overall, we thought the meal was average and probably won't be back.

  I love ramen noodles and have tried many places in the lower mainland. I like Ramen Gaoh because there are lots of choices to tweak your bowl of noodles to your liking. I really like that their "spicy levels" includes not only choices of spice level but also your choice of numbness. I thought this was hilarious and on point haha
  
  Good flavours, good service, clean establishment. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area.

  Decent ramen place in Burnaby Heights.
  
  Parking is available along Hastings, as well as the side streets.
  
  The owners are the same as Gojiro and Ramen Butcher, so the reputation for quality is already there. Yes the ramen is good.
  
  Just like Gojiro, the spiciest (Level 3) and most numbing (Level 3) are easily tolerable. In other words, the spiciness is "North American spicy". A wee bit disappoint in this respect.
  
  The quantity of food here is noticeably less than Gojiro. Maybe I'm just spoiled with the serving sizes over there, but I left hungry.
